How to Find the Shuffle and Repeat Buttons in the iOS 10 Music App

Lots of people have been asking where the Shuffle or Repeat buttons are in the iOS 10 Music app. And it’s true, they’re not easy to find.

Let’s say you’ve started playing some music. There’s a Now Playing bar at the bottom of the screen, above the buttons.

Now playing

Tap the Now Playing bar to display the play screen.

Next, swipe up on the play screen (without pressing the pause, next, or previous buttons), and you’ll see the Up Next queue.

Up next

As you can see, the Shuffle and Repeat buttons are to the right of the words Up Next. As you can see here, the Shuffle button is engaged.

If you thought that was hard to find, check out this hidden delete button in the iOS 10 Music app.

  1. Thanks for the info!!!! I couldn’t fix my music until I read this. It was stuck on repeat and I couldn’t find the repeat and shuffle button. You da bomb!! :)

  2. Thanks for the post. Really helpful. Does anyone know why it almost ALWAYS defaults to repeat the playlist? I find I have to confirm every time it’s not on repeat which 8 out of 10 it is. I found the same issue with iOS 9.

  3. omg i was swiping up from the bottom and was showing the flashlight etc screen, actually had to google the simplest turn on/off repeat, can’t believe it! Apple you are idiots!

  4. A million times, THANK YOU!!!! This was driving me crazy and I could not find a solution until finding your post. 😍❤️
